The Summer Vegan Pledge requires the participants to try a vegan diet for 30 days in the month of June. The program regularly provides updated tips and support to those who take part. Thousands have signed up for the pledge and will be ditching animal products this June.
Animal Aid, UK animal rights group, initiated the pledge and is urging people to take part in it. Over 3,000 have already joined and more are expected to follow. The number of people that enrolled last year was close to 3,700, out of which 53% took the leap to veganism.
“We are so happy to see that so many people have pledged to go vegan this June. The Summer Vegan Pledge offers those who are curious or interested in trying veganism the opportunity to do so in a supportive and non-judgemental environment,” Animal Aid Campaign Manager, Tod Bradbury, said.
He added, “Not only is a plant-based diet kinder to animals, but it is better for the planet and healthy, too. There really is no downside.”
The Summer Pledge offers all the help to those that sign up. They will be providing a free welcome pack full of recipes, nutritional advice, tips on shopping and more, regular updates throughout the month to keep them motivated and informed, access to exclusive social media channels for sharing tips and advice. They will also get details about vegan events and special offers and one-to-one help if need be.
