Pizza Hut has officially announced the release of vegan cheese in all US restaurants by the end of summer 2019.
With a recent email communication between Pizza Hut and The Vegan Herald, the pizza chain revealed that they are working to introduce vegan cheese this summer.
“We have been testing the marketing when it comes to vegan cheese for quite some time, and we’re just about ready to make the leap!” Pizza Hut told The Vegan Herald.
“We plan to have vegan cheese available at all of our U.S. locations by the end of summer, most likely in August.”
The pizza chain leader has yet to reveal whether they’ll be creating their own vegan cheese or sourcing it from another brand.
The chain, however, uses vegan cheese from Violife in the UK where the pizza giant released a menu of vegan options in March this year.
Staggering demand for vegan pizza in January has been the motivator behind the pizza chain’s initiative to launch a vegan menu during which 25,000 vegan pizzas were sold.
Pizza Hut’s initiative to launch vegan cheese and vegan options is a big step forward towards a plant-based future.
